Abstract

The final project of Multimedia Laboratory III was developed through a partnership with ESSUA teachers, aiming to produce and disseminate online tools for teaching in the area of voice and for the promotion of vocal health. Thus, and as in the curricular unit JavaScript was taught, it was intended to create educational games in order to promote the importance of voice, in groups of four.

Thus, it was decided to create an endless runner game, intended for children from 7 years old, where objects, food or actions that may or may not harm the voice appear. In this way, the game is based on two characters (doctor and doctor) who have to avoid what harms the voice and collect everything that benefits it, in order to increase the player's score. As the game progresses, its difficulty increases. It is important to note that if the player picks up objects which are harmful to the voice, a life is removed (or the game is automatically lost, in the case of the virus) and a difficulty appears, such as changing the controls, in the case of alcohol, or the appearance of a filter which inhibits vision. In the case of losing all lives (except in the case of the virus), a question is presented which makes it possible to recover a life.

In this way, to implement the game, HTML, CSS and JavaScript were used, as well as Adobe Illustrator to design all the game graphics.
